Let me say I am a stickler for my journals. I am so precise, I am picky. This is a nice journal. The binding seems iffy but its beautiful and it the pages are actually really thick. I added a picture to show how I colored on a page with marker and you can barely see it on the page behind it. So definitely approve for bullet journaling. Definitely a functional book for crafting. Worth it for the price. Hopefully the binding holds up and its just a visual thing but I love this book. I would 100% suggest buying this journal.
I bought it to replace my old notebook with leather cover. It fits perfectly. Plus it has dot grid. It’s much more convenient than old fashioned ruled notebooks. The quality of the paper is good. The surface is smooth on touch but I didn’t have any problems with handwriting using regular ball pen 🖊️.
This is a rather nice notebook. I've experienced no bleed-through with fountain pen inks, noting that the ones in my pens at this time are not dreadfully "wet". The paper is smooth and attractive, with a dot grid I can see without difficulty – noticeable, but not aggressive. It lacks some niceties, such as an elastic band to hold it closed, and any pockets for loose papers. (I see that it is listed as a "refill".) However, it does have one ribbon bookmark, which I consider the bare minimum. It will probably work well as a bullet journal, though I will probably want to make and attach a pocket inside the back cover.Thank you for reading my review. I hope you found it helpful.
Fountain Pen Users: The paper is paper is medium weight and cream with a touch of tooth. There is minimal spread, even with my wettest nib. There is feathering with my wettest nib, and just a little bit with the others. There is some show through, but not enough to make the reverse side unusable. There is no bleed. The book is nice, and the paper is of sufficient quality to justify the extra cost above the lower priced books. I do worry about the binding (see below). It’s a good to very good book and a really good dottie. All Other Users: The book is put together from signatures, as one would expect from a book this size, but the signatures are bound by glue and tape. Put more simply: the pages are bound like a hard cover book (signatures), but signatures are bound like a paperback (perfect binding). it means that if the tape goes your overall binding is shot. Something to consider.Otherwise it is a really good book.
